Diagnosis: Zoster / Herpes zoster / Shingles

Comments: This 7-year-old boy developed shingles on his shoulder, upper chest, and arm. The lesions were mildly pruritic, and resolved with compresses and calamine lotion over 2 weeks. He had received the varicella vaccine as a toddler.

Category: dermatomal eruption / infections and infestations / vesiculobullous eruptions
Morphology: vesiculobullous (blister, pustule)
Organization: dermatomal / grouped, clustered Pattern: asymmetric
Color: red Body Site: chest / back / neck
Age: 7 years Gender: Male Image Year: 2003
