Main Library Lockers & Carrels
Lockers:
Application forms may be picked up at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of classes every semester (including the summer session) on a first-come first-serve basis.
Lockers are available to currently registered students.
Graduate Study Carrels:
Graduate students may request an application for a study carrel at the Bookstacks office on the fourth floor of the Main Library. Graduate study carrels are located on the fourth floor of the Main Library, northeast corner. Requests are granted on a priority system described below.
- Application forms are available at 8:00 A.M. on the first day of classes every semester (including the summer sessions). Applications are not distributed prior to these times.
- To receive an application form, please go to the fourth floor of the Main Library to the Bookstacks Office. This office is located in the center hallway next to the north elevator.
- After a student has picked up an application form, please:
- completely fill out the front of the form.
- have his or her advisor sign the back of the form in the appropriate place
- return the form to the Bookstacks Office. The time by which the form must be returned will be posted in the Bookstacks Office. It is typically two days later.
- There are a limited number of carrels available, so not every graduate student will be able to have one. Carrels are first assigned to students in the top priority group listed on the back of the application form (group #1), then to those in the second priority group, etc. Within each group, carrels are assigned in the order in which the applications are picked up at the Bookstacks Office.
- Students who are assigned carrels will be notified by email within a week.
- Students in the health sciences areas, the College of Law, and Library and Information Science are not eligible for carrels in the Main Library. Students in the health sciences and the College of Law should apply to either the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences or the College of Law Library for assigned study space.
