Edward Shreeves

Edward Shreeves - University of Iowa LibrariesEdward Shreeves has been involved in collection management for more than two decades. In his present position since 1989, he previously worked as Medieval and Renaissance Bibliographer at the UCLA Library.  He holds a B.A. with high honors from the College of William and Mary and an M.S.L.S. and Ph.D in Classics from the University of North Carolina.  Dr. Shreeves is the author of several articles and book reviews on collection management topics appearing in Library Trends, Journal of Library Administration, College and Research Libraries, The Journal of Academic Librarianship, and Library Acquisitions: Practice and Theory.  Since 2003 he has been editor of Collection Management. Dr. Shreeves has been active in the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services of the American Library Association, for which he served as Chair of the Collection Management and Development Section in 1996-97 and Chair of the Chief Collection Development Officers of Large Research Libraries in 1994-95. He served as Chair of the Collections and Services Advisory Panel of the Center for Research Libraries and the Task Force on Collection Assessment for the Center. Dr. Shreeves completed the 2001 Senior Fellows program at UCLA.
