Camcorder Circulation at the Information Arcade
Equipment available
- One Sony TRV-950 miniDV camcorder
- Three Sony HC-40 miniDV camcorders
- Three compact tripods
Each camera comes in a carrying bag. Cables (USB, A/V) may be checked out separately.
Training
Borrowers must be trained in basic functions of the camcorders before checking them out. This training, provided by Arcade staff, should take only about 10 minutes. When staff are available the training will be conducted on a walk-in basis; however, if staff are busy then borrowers will be asked to reserve a time for a training session. Groups or classes who anticipate making use of camcorders are asked to make a reservation for training. This can be done in person, via phone (335-6465), or by e-mail (info-arcade@uiowa.edu).
Checkout policies
- Camcorders and tripods may be checked out for three days.
- Materials are to be returned to the Information Arcade desk. Please be aware of the Arcade’s hours of operation: http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/hours.html.
- Overdue fines will accrue at the rate of $4.00 per day. Two late returns will result in suspension of camcorder borrowing privileges.
- Lost or damaged equipment will be billed for full cost.
