Saving your search query has several benefits: you don't have to re-enter a complicated search query again and saved search query can be used as a current awareness profile to see what is being published in your area of research as the Chemical Abstracts database is updated.
Step 1 :
Enter your search terms into the Word Search window. Save your search terms as a Query List.

Then the search terms are saved as Query List with .qry extension.

Select a directory and give your query file a name, then save it.
Step 2 :
Adding Your Search to the Query List

From the Word Search window, click 
Click to add your search query to the query list.

This will bring up the Query Title window.

Give your query a name, click on .
From the Queries window, click on 
Your search query now has been saved.
When you either open a different section of Chemical Abstracts or exit from Chemical Abstracts, always click on when prompted about changes to your Query List. This will ensure that your search query has been saved.
Step 3 :
Running Search Query on a different section of Chemical Abstracts
First open the section of Chemical Abstracts you want to search by selecting Open Database.

The next step is to Open the Query List

Find your saved query file and open it.

When you open other parts of the Chemical Abstracts Database, you will see the following window:

Click Yes button and in the following window click OK.
