Conservation Binding: library binding of all kinds.
Early Codex: from the earliest Roman formats to the late Coptic (8 th c.)
Early Letterpress: book bindings from the period of printing from cast metal type until the end of hand set book work with flat bed presses
Modern Design: unique fine binding of the 20 th century
Monastic/Manuscript: written books from the advent of Coptic monasticism to the end of manuscript book text production (16 th c. with exceptions as imposed by religious injunction, or static technology)
Publisher/Trade: book bindings from the industrial letterpress and off-set book production period. Production and fine binding of the period on such imprints.
Stationer/Account: blank or ruled sheet binding for accounting records, from the advent of the codex format to the present day.
