Research Process: where do I start?
Journal Articles
- Resources by Subject lets you select the best databases for your topic.
- List of Databases contains all the databases we buy access to.
- E-journals list includes just the journals that are available online. In most cases you are better off searching a database for articles on your topic rather than searching individual journals.
Find a specific Article
- Article Locator uses the name of the journal and at least some citation information (author, title, volume, issue, page number) to find a specific article. The Article Locator only locates articles that are available electronically.
- Ask a librarian for help tracking down a specific article or use the Resources by Subject list to choose a database you think is likely to index the journal your article is in.
- Document Delivery will deliver articles to you electronically.

- The library catalog, Infohawk , find books and other material in the University of Iowa's libraries.
