COLOPHON: The world's smallest book. The Toppan Printing Company takes pleasure in presenting its Toppan Microbook version of the Holy Bible. This tiny edition of the first book of Moses, called Genesis, of King James version of Holy Bible is the product of Toppan's newly developed micro-printing process. Our Microbook, 0.138 inches square by 0.04 inches thick, and weighing 0.035 ounces, contains 24 pages with about 45 words to the page, the type used is 0.005 inches high or the equivalent of 0.34 point, and its stem is 0.0010 inches, or about one-third the diameter of a human hair. This unique process calls for the use of a famous Japanese ultra-high resolution lens to take a camera proof of a phototype-proof original. The original idea to use Holy Bible as our initial English production came from the Tokyo Lincoln Book Center, who is sponsoring this book . Ivory egg with five minute ivory dice hiramaki-e. (Japanese, early-twentieth century). 5/8" in height and 1/2" in diameter.
Low-relief picture lacquer. A tiny ivory egg decorated with a hand-painted scene of two chickens, in gold, touched with red and brown. In the hollow of the egg, which opens by unscrewing, are five extremely tiny ivory dice with the spots painted in red and black. A metal loop at the top of the egg makes it suitable for use as a charm on necklace or bracelet.
