Padding of SuDocs numbers for accurate computer-sorting. Pad with zeros, ensuring that there are 3 digits between the initial letters and the period (.); 4 digits between the period (.) and the next punctuation (which may be a colon (:) or a slash (/)). Slashes (/) and dashes (-) are always followed by 2 digits [unless the dashes are part of a piece-level numbering system]. Leave a space between the colon (:) and the preceding digits.
