Based on responses to the Survey of Government Documents Retrospective Conversion Projects, the listserv GovRetro-L has been created to facilitate communication among libraries (librarians) working on or planning a retrospective conversion project of U.S. Government Publications. GovRetro-L initially is populated with the names of individuals who answered questions 10, 11, and 12, indicating some sort of willingness to participate in a multi-library or cooperative retrospective conversion project.
GovRetro-L can be used in a number of ways:
Other creative uses of GovRetro-L will emerge with time.
GovRetro-L is open to anyone interested in retrospective cataloging of government publications. One need not have completed the Survey to join the list. Membership on GovRetro-L does not imply that a commitment to do cataloging has been made.
To subscribe to GovRetro-L, send an e-mail message to <listproc@lists.colorado.edu>. In the message, enter "subscribe GovRetro-L" without the quotation marks, followed by the name of your library or institution.
