IntroductionThis microfiche set is based on the Checklist of U.S. Public Documents, 17891909, and expanded to 1932 to incorporate publications of executive branch departments and agencies that did not appear in the United States Serial Set. Both components of Executive Branch Documents (1789-1909 and 1910-1932) include publications produced by the Federal Government that were part of the essential public record, however, due to the early publication dates of these documents, they are currently not widely available in paper format and, if located, may be in fragile condition. Microformat ensures access to this element of the historic record. (Gov. Pubs.
