IntroductionThe Foreign Nationalities Branch of the OSS collected information about foreign nationality groups (European only) in the U.S. during World War II as a means of understanding and influencing political developments in occupied Europe. This was done chiefly by analyzing foreign language periodicals published in the U.S. and by correspondence with informants. The resulting Branch reports constitute the bulk of this collection.
