The University of Iowa Libraries has a site license to RefWorks!

RefWorks is a web-based citation management and bibliography tool. It can help you to efficiently store, organize, and share citations and easily format them for papers and bibliographies.

EndNote Support

The University of Iowa Libraries no longer provides formal support for EndNote.  The EndNote Support & Services page supplies a variety of filters and connection files and includes FAQs, tip sheets, and technical support contact information.

EndNote / InfoHawk Import Instructions

Saving your Search

1. Select desired citations by clicking the box to the left of each record or click the "Select All" button.
2. Click on "Add to Basket."
3. Click "My Basket."
4. Select "Save/Mail."
5. Under "Record Format" select "MARC tags."
6. Click "Go"; Click "OK."
7. Click "Save."

Importing your Search

1. You will need an updated InfoHawk import filter. Download it into your filters subdirectory (usually C:\Program Files\EndNote 9\Filters).
2. Open Endnote and choose the library into which you want to import the citations.
3. Choose "File" then "Import."
4. Click on “Choose File” and find the file that you have just saved.
5. From the pull-down menu next to “Import Option” choose "InfoHawk."
6. Click the “Import” button.


Searching the InfoHawk Library Catalog through EndNote

Important! The University of Iowa call number will not be retrieved using Endnote in this fashion. Any call numbers that are retrieved should be ignored.

1. Download the InfoHawk Connection File here.
2. Place the InfoHawk.enz in your EndNote/Connections folder (usually c:\Program Files\EndNote\Connections).
3. Open EndNote as usual and choose the InfoHawk connection.
