If you are a UI affiliate, you can often get to our subscribed titles if you go to this website via a University of Iowa web page. However, we do not subscribe to all the titles on this web site.
PubMed Central (PMC) PubMed Central is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's digital archive of life sciences journal literature. Access to PMC is free and unrestricted, and all titles are peer-reviewed.
BioMed Central (BMC) BioMed Central publishes peer reviewed research across all areas of biology and medicine, with immediate, barrier-free access for all.
Public Library of Science (PLoS) The Public Library of Science is a non-profit organization of scientists and physicians committed to making the world's scientific and medical literature a freely available public resource. PLoS publishes only peer-reviewed articles.
Ulrich's Periodical Directory List of Open Access Journals Click here for information about restricted resources Check the "Open Access" box under Features in the Advanced Search. This source indicates whether the journal is refereed and also gives other useful information about each title.
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) The aim of this directory is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. DOAJ aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content, however, not all titles are peer-reviewed.
FreeMedicalJournals.com This web site tracks free scholarly publications, including journals which cost money but offer free access to articles after a certain amount of time (usually 12 months). There is also an alert service for new titles added to the list.
