This HIV-positive patient was exhibiting signs of a secondary condyloma acuminata infection, i.e., venereal warts. This intraoral eruption of condyloma acuminata, or venereal warts was caused by the human papilloma virus. Though oral HPV is a rare occurrence, HIV reduces the body’s immune response, and therefore, such secondary infections can manifest themselves.
