This image depicts a dorsal view of the large (25mm) Chilean recluse, Loxosceles laeta spider.

Loxosceles spp. spider venom contains proteolytic, and hemolytic, components. A patient’s symptoms will usually include bite site ecchymosis, blistering, jaundice, hemoglobinuria, and a large superficial area of necrosis.
