Here the upper shoulder of a chickenpox patient reveals the appearance of the rash during the 3rd day of the illness. This image shows pocks in different stages, including papules, small vesicles, and one or two scabbing pustules. This is the 3rd day of the chickenpox rash. There are times when a chickenpox rash may be confused with the skin eruptions of smallpox.
