This patient presented with a rash on both feet caused by the onset of secondary syphilis due to T. pallidum bacteria. The second stage of syphilis starts when one or more areas of the skin break into a rash that appears as rough, red or reddish brown spots both on the palms of hands and on the bottoms of feet. Even without treatment, rashes clear up by itself. Content Providers(s): CDC/ Susan Lindsley |
