I already have an Ovid ID/PW. Why should I switch?
Ovid Personal Accounts allow you to include links back to the record in your results and share these links with others. Personal Accounts are easier for the library to maintain. Users can register themselves and have immediate access. Resetting forgotten passwords is also much more convenient.
How do I move my current saved searches and AutoAlerts to a Personal Account?
1) Set up a Personal Account (see below)
2) Contact us. Give us your name, e-mail address, your newly created Personal Account Name, and the names of your saved searches and AutoAlerts
3) We will contact Ovid and let you know when the searches are transferred.
How do I set up a Personal Account?
To set up a Personal Account click on one of the database links on the Ovid page and click on the Personal Account link located at the top of the page. Follow the instructions on the page.
How do I save my search strategies?
What is an AutoAlert and how do I create one?
An AutoAlert is a saved search strategy that runs automatically without any intervention on your part. When you save your search strategy as an AutoAlert in any database, the AutoAlert profile retrieves any newly-added documents on your topic and emails them to you the day that database has been updated.
Visit the AutoAlerts page for more instructions on creating an AutoAlert.
Can I set up an "AutoAlert" in PubMed?
Yes! PubMed has a new feature called "My NCBI". Select "My NCBI" from the left side of the PubMed screen to register for an account.
I forgot my Personal Account Name and Password. What do I do?
Get into any Ovid database and click on Saved Searches. Click on the link Forgot your Personal Account password? Follow the instructions on this page.
