Hardin Library Reorganization 2000

In January the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences completed a staff reorganization which establishes a Director and four Coordinators to oversee its operational services. These five form an Administrative Committee which reviews Hardin Library policies, procedures and resources. The five positions are:

Larry Woods, Director, Health Sciences and Information Technology
Ed Holtum, Coordinator for Administration and Access Services
Hope Barton, Coordinator for Collection Management and Materials Processing
Jim Duncan, Coordinator for the Information Commons and Electronic Services
Neville Prendergast, Coordinator for Information and Educational Services

Ed Holtum has administrative responsibility for Access Services, Administrative Services, Outreach Services and Grants, and Healthnet Administration. Dick Eimas continues as Head of Access Services (reporting to Ed Holtum in this role) and Curator of the John Martin Rare Book Room (reporting to Larry Woods in this role). Rich Green continues to report to Dick as Special Assistant. Michelle Dralle heads up the newly combined Circulation/Reserves, Stacks and Shelving Unit with Nancy Murphy and Cindy Phillips assisting her. Linda Loco continues as Head of Interlibrary Loan assisted by Kathleen Halbach and Cassie Reed Thureson (half time). Donna Spilman is now half-time assistant in the John Martin Rare Book Room (reporting to Dick Eimas in the capacity) and half-time Government Documents Assistant (reporting to Hope Barton in this capacity). This important change will allow us to keep the John Martin Rare Book Room open between 8 and 5 during the week. It will also give better coverage for Government Documents.

Hope Barton has administrative responsibility for Materials Processing (Barbara Siebenschuh and Kelly Arp), Government Documents (Donna Spilman) and Collection Development.

Jim Duncan now has administrative responsibility for Desktop Support (Adam Burton), Web-based Services (Eric Rumsey) and Healthnet Operations (Jim Kohler and Linda Roth). Jim also heads up the Information Commons as he did before, with responsibility for the Graduate Assistants.

Neville Prendergast has administrative responsibility for Information Services (Sandra Phelps, Trena Crocker, Cassie Thureson (half-time), and Linda Roth (half-time), and User Education.
