Building Additions

Original South Facade

The south section of the new building had temporary facades in
anticipation of adding on to the building.

 

Dismantling

Dismantling part of the south wall to add the first addition in 1961.

 

Proposed Additions

The architect's proposed additions to the building.

 

1961 addition completed

Completion of the 1961 addition. 

 In the summer of 1965 the construction of the second addition began.  This addition fully extended the first addition to the north.  Total usable space in the library was now 200,000 square feet.
