DUNLAP<\/strong><br \/>\nDean of Library Administration<\/p>\n<p class=\"style2\" style=\"margin-top: 0;\">September 1958 \u2013 December 1981<\/p>\n<p>Les Dunlap was previously Associate Director at University of Illinois Library, Urbana; and before that held positions at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver; the Library of Congress; the University of Wisconsin Library, Madison; and the New York Public Library.<\/p>\n<p>During his tenure, the Friends of the University of Iowa Libraries was organized, one of the oldest such organizations affiliated with a university library; the Main Library building was expanded; and a number of new collections were received as gifts.<\/p>\n<p>Dunlap was a member of the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science, appointed by President Richard Nixon.\u00a0 Dunlap received a B.A. from the University of Oregon\u00a0 and his M.A., B.S., and Ph.D. from Columbia University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LESLIE W.
