Individuals should contact their public, academic, or corporate library with which they are affiliated to make a request.<\/p>\n<h3>Acceptable methods for submission of interlibrary loan requests<\/h3>\n<p>Requests may be sent by OCLC, SILO, or via an <a href=\"https:\/\/uiowa.illiad.oclc.org\/illiad\/Lending\/illiadlending.dll\">online request form. <\/a>\u00a0(please call <a href=\"tel:319-335-5917\">319-335-5917<\/a> or email at <a href=\"mailto:lib-ill@uiowa.edu\">lib-ill@uiowa.edu<\/a> for username and password)<\/p>\n<h3>Loans\/Scans<\/h3>\n<h4>Loans<\/h4>\n<p>We lend items for 17 weeks with one 17 week renewal; videos and sound recordings for 4 weeks with no renewals.<\/p>\n<h4>Scans<\/h4>\n<p>Scans are provided if the article is less than 50 pages . Scans are sent via Odyssey, Article Exchange, PDF, mail, fax, or air mail.<\/p>\n<h4>Non-Circulating Items<\/h4>\n<p>Special Collections, Reference materials.<\/p>\n<h4>Microfilm and Multi-Volume Sets<\/h4>\n<p>Limit of 6 reels or volumes per request.<\/p>\n<h4>Dissertations and Theses<\/h4>\n<p>Dissertations and theses are available for loan if a circulating copy is available . Post-1954 dissertations may be purchased from University Microfilms, Inc. (UMI) by calling 1-800-521-3042 or from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umi.com\/products_umi\/dissertations\/\">UMI Website<\/a>. We will provide a photocopy only if not available through UMI and with author&#8217;s permission.<\/p>\n<h4>Government Documents<\/h4>\n<p>Will lend if a circulating copy is available.<\/p>\n<h4>Sound Recordings<\/h4>\n<p>Sound recordings are lent to U.S. libraries for a 4-week loan with no renewals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Video Recordings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Video recordings are lent to U.S. libraries for a 4-week loan with no renewals.<\/p>\n<h4>Serials<\/h4>\n<p>Bound &amp; unbound periodicals are lent on a case by case basis.<\/p>\n<h4>Special Collections<\/h4>\n<p>Will lend only to Big Ten Academic Alliance libraries\u00a0as a last resort on a case-by-case basis.\u00a0 We will scan portions if the condition of the item allows.<\/p>\n<h4>RUSH Service<\/h4>\n<p>Handled on a case by case basis.
