“Celebrating May Brodbeck” – March 4

An overflow crowd of friends and colleagues of Leola Bergmann and the late May Brodbeck filled the reading room on March 4, 2004 for an event celebrating Leola Bergmann’s gift of her portrait of May Brodbeck. Brodbeck was the first woman to serve as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculties of the University of Iowa (1974-1981) and was a strong advocate for women within the university.
