Introduction. Under development since the spring of 1996, this collection of audio-cassette tapes and CDs of recitals by School of Music faculty and concerts by the major School Ensembles is provided through the services of the Recording Studios, which has recorded performances by faculty and major ensembles since the opening of the Voxman Music Building in 1971. Library holdings since April 1996 are complete. The Library copies are for use only within the Music Library, with no further copying permitted. The Recording Studios handle requests from those who wish to purchase their own copies. The Recording Studios also have a complete database of tapes since 1971, accessible by composer, performer, and date.
Scope: Recitals and ensemble performances by School of Music faculty and ensembles since April, 1996, with some earlier events.
Name spellings and title forms: Names of composers are those “authorized” for use in the online catalog at the time items were cataloged for this database; no effort is made to keep up with changes, but this database should be consistent within itself. Most titles are as they appear on the item in hand, usually taken from the program notes.
Loaning of tapes outside the Music Library is permitted only with the written consent of the performer(s). Please contact the Rita Benton Music Library for information regarding more recent performances.
