My Personal Librarian:
Hardin Library for the Health Sciences
Although Janna knew that she wanted to be a librarian since she was a teen-ager in a small town in central Illinois, she couldn’t have imagined becoming a health sciences librarian. After earning a degree in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois and working as a paraprofessional in a variety of libraries, she found herself working in a health sciences library in San Antonio. Her co-workers there encouraged her to commute to Austin to get her master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Texas, and she has worked in health sciences libraries ever since. After spending most of her adult life in San Antonio, Janna came to the University of Iowa to work at Hardin Library for the Health Sciences in 2007.
