Jen teaches group/individual sessions on using health sciences resources and finding evidence for clinical questions at the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences. She was a practicing occupational therapist for 15 years prior to obtaining a master’s in library science, in 2008.

Originally from New Jersey, Jen moved to Iowa City after living in Philadelphia, Colorado, and Utah. She enjoys watching sports, reading, hiking, swimming, skating, and snowboarding, and is also having fun sharing these interests with her two boys, aged 5 and 8.

She maintains several library subject guides for her assigned programs/departments.

Amy Blevins is one of the Clinical Education librarians at Hardin Library for the Health Sciences. She is one of two librarians for the Health Sciences Living Learning Community.

Amy spends the majority of her time working with medical students. She also works with residents and fellows in several different departments within the University of Iowa Health Care system. Previous to pursuing a life of librarianship, Amy was on the pre-med track and earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology. She now has her Master of Arts in Library Science and has been working in academic health sciences libraries for 7 years. In her spare time, Amy likes going on walks and to the park with her dog, Cujo and reading. She’s also a big fan of horror movies and supernatural novels.

Jen and Amy are also the personal librarians for the Pre-Med Living Learning Community.
