Requests to Place Materials on Main Course Reserve: Please review the University of Iowa Libraries course reserve policy and the instructions Requests to place materials on Main Course Reserve can be made in person, by email (lib-res@uiowa.edu) or by using the following form: Main Library Reserve Request. Instructors are responsible for determining if their use of copyrighted material falls within Fair Use or if they need to obtain permission to use the material. The Copyright Management Center at IUPU provides a check list to aid in making fair use evaluations. Further information about copyright is also available on the Libraries' Copyright and Teaching/Research website. Loan Periods: Items circulate for either 2 hours, 4 hours or 3 days. Material with an hourly loan that would be due after closing are due back one hour after Reserve Services next opens. Please check the Libraries hours. Materials should be returned to Reserve Services. Fines: 2 or 4 Hour Items: $2.40/Hour 3 Day Items $4.00/Day No Renewals: Reserve loans are not renewable. Two or four hour items must be on the shelf for 30 minutes before they can be checked out again by the same borrower. Three day items must be on the shelf for one hour before they can be checked out again by the same borrower. Maximum Checkouts: You may check out a maximum of three hourly items and two three-day items at one time. Permanent Reserve: This is a collection of unclassified journals that are housed within the Main Reserve area. They are available when the Reserve area is open. Please see our hours. Journals circulate for a week at a time.
