Field, Eugene. Dibdin’s Ghost. Fullerton, CA, Lorson’s Books and Prints, 1980. 5pp. 2-7/8″ x 2-5/16″. About this book: Eugene Field’s poem first appeared in pamphlet form in an edition of 25 copies in 1890. This printing is taken from The Book-Lover’s Almanac for the Year 1893 published by Duprat & Co., New York. Thomas Fragnall Dibdin (1776-1847) was a noted bibliographer and enthusiast for rare and unusual books. The poem’s reference to Lowndes is to another English bibliographer: William Thomas Lowndes (1798-1843). 500 copies printed for Lorson’s Books & Prints by Vance Gerry. Bound in green paper cover with the title printed in black on the front cover. B20th 1/1072.

Butler, William H.A. Nothing to Wear, an Episode of City Life. Fullerton, CA, Lorson’s Books and Prints, 1982. 34pp. 2-7/8″ x 2-1/4″. Colophon: This edition, designed and illustrated by Vance Gerry, Printed by Patrick Reagh and bound by Bela Blau, is limited to 250 copies. Signed by Vance Gerry. This book is printed from a poem originally published in 1857 and included in Merle Johnson’s HIGH SPOTS OF AMERICAN LITERATURE. Contains three woodcut illustrations by Vance Gerry. Print from type and original blocks in 6 point deepdene italic on Mohawk letterpress. Bound in decorative fuchsia boards with a black cloth spine. Title printed on the spine in purple, and is printed on the front cover in black. B20th 3/555

Two issues, one bound in cream colored paper wrapper with a hand colored illustration on the front cover along with the title printed in black, the other printed in blue ink but not colored.. B20th 4/1853.

Addison, Joseph. A Man of Business. Lorson’s Books and Prints and The Ampersand Workshop, 1984. 2-1/8″ x 1-9/16″. Colophon: 350 copies printed for Lorson’s Books at The Ampersand Workshop. A keepsake in honor of John and Rosalind Randle’s visit to Southern California, October, 1984. Bound in gray paper wrapper with title stamped in black on the front cover. Tied together with white thread. Two copies. B20th 5/32.

[24 pp.] 2 1/2 ” x 1 15/16″. 150 copies at Whittington Court in 6-point Garamond on Zerkall mould-made paper. 115 bound by Smith Settle in Whittington marbled paper, and 35 in leather with a set of proofs. MAY 1985. COPY NO. XIX. This set of proofs is printed on Zerkall Halbmatt mould-made paper form the original wood-engraving, in which the individual scenes are arranged on a single block in four rows each containing three pictures. Nursery Rhymes in rust leather in a rust, clothe fold-over box. Signed by Gwenda Morgan. The proof sets for the series in a marbled bound case. B20th 6/2133.

MAY 1985. COPY NO. 103. Regular edition. Illustrated by a full-page woodcut by Gwenda Morgan. Mint in cloth-backed marbled boards. Slipcased. B20th 7/2132.

MacGregor, Miriam. Weeds in My Garden. Andoversford, Gloucestershire, England, Whittington Press, 1986. Edition of 175 copies on mould-made paper, 140 copies quarterbound and 35 copies full-bound in leather. B20th 9/1912.

Logan, Herschel C. This Ole House. Fullerton, CA, Lorson’s Books and Prints, 1986. 30pp. 2-11/16″ x 2-5/16″. Edition of 100 copies. A hand printed and bound story about Stuart Hamblen’s famous song. Illustrated with a fold-out section, and bound in a green with yellow speckled coarse paper with a white title label affixed to the spine.B20th 11/1892.

Lawrence, John. Good Babies, Bad Babies. Andoversford, Gloucestershire, England, Whittington Press, 1986. 2-1/2″ x 1-7/8″. Colophon: 175 copies printed in Bell type on Zerkall mould-made paper. 140 are quarter-bound, and 35 are in leather hand-colored by the artist. Bound by Smith Settle, July 1986. This is copy number XXVII, printed for Lorson’s Books & Prints, Fullerton California. This book is one of the deluxe edition, but is only quarter-bound in yellow patterned paper over boards with a tan leather spine. Title is stamped in gold on the spine. Encased inside a box bound in light tan silk with a title label affixed to the spine. B20th 12/1762.

Logan, Herschel C. Teach us to Pray. Fullerton, CA, Lorson’s Books and Prints, 1987. 2-9/16″ x 2-1/16″. Colophon: About 100 copies have been printed by The Ampersand Workshop for the author & Lorson’s Books. Herschel would have us complete this work with –30– the traditional ending numbers for a news dispatch. We prefer the affirmative & positive ending to The Lord’s Prayer. Amen. Bound in blue marbled paper wrapper with title label pasted on the front cover. Frontispiece is a woodcut by Herschel Logan of a picture of Christ. B20th 13/1889.

Colophon: This edition is limited to 150 copies as a keepsake for the 1992 Joint Meeting of the Roxburghe & Zamorano Clubs. Sponsors are Zamorano Club members: K. Chinn, R. Hart, J. Lorson, M. Nunn, S. Robinson, J.R. Selmer, and Msgr. F.J. Weber. Forty additional copies are reserved for private use and 110 copies are published in a separate edition by Lorson’s Books & Prints, Fullerton, California. Design by Vance Gerry; printing by Patrick Reagh; and binding by Bela Blau. Printed in letterpress and bound in full black letterpress with the title stamped in gold on the front cover. (150 issues were bound in black cloth for the Roxburghe & Zamorano Clubs, and this is one of the 40 private issues, which are bound in black leather). B20th 19/1883.
