Colophon: This originally appeared as an editorial in THE NEW YORK
SUN on September 21, 1897. One hundred twenty-five copies have been
illustrated, printed on handmade paper, & hand bound by Peter and

Colophon: This book has been handset, letterpress printed & hand
bound by Peter and Donna Thomas. The illustrations were cut by Donna
& the paper made by Peter. There are two hundred copies, the
first nineteen printed on vellum. All copies have been painted by
hand. This is copy #8. Signed by Thomas.
A story written in the timeless tradition of the myth and fable,
leaving one with something to ponder over after it is read. 9
linoleum cut illustrations; the illustration on the first page of
text has been painted. Printed using Bernhard Modern Rome types.
Bound by the printers with title gold-stamped on spine. This is bound
in vellum, using slunk vellum instead of handmade paper. Contained in
navy blue leather slipcase with wooden top and bottom. The regular
edition is quarter bound in dark blue calf with printed handmade

Colophon: There are 200 copies of this bedtime story told by Peter
and Tanya Thomas (25 deluxe hand colored illustrations, clasps on
binding). It is a letterpress printed on Peter’s paper with cuts by
Donna. Hand bound at The Good Book Press. Deluxe copies are lettered
A-Z. This is letter H. Signed by Thomas.
Contains five linoleum cut illustrations. Printed in three colors.
Illustrations in beige and three of them are integrated with type, 14
pt Canterbury, using part of the cut as a letter. Bound in ivory
pigskin with raised bands on the spine and title stamped in gold on

Colophon: This book has been printed letterpress and photocopying on
Peter’s handmade paper, using photographs taken in 1976 at the
Renaissance Pleasure Faire. There are 150 copies & this is number
49.
Bound in purple paper boards. All pages purple in color. Illustrated,
and also contains samples of paper made from bird of paradise, New
Zealand flax, cotton, abaca, and lawn clippings. B20th 25/2895.

Thomas, Peter. Shakespeare on Papermills. Santa Cruz, CA: Good
Book Press, 1988. 64 pp. 1 15/16″ x 1 9/16″.
Colophon: Shakespeare on Papermills was written by Peter Thomas and
illustrated by Donna Thomas. They also printed and bound the edition
by hand. The first 100 copies are printed on paper made during
Shakespeare’s lifetime ( from a damaged copy of DIGESTUM NOVUM:
1576). the second 100 copies use Peter’s handmade paper. This is #27
of 100 copies on 1576 paper.
Bound in boards with leather spine wrapping. All paper, covers, and
end sheets are from paper made in Shakespeare’s lifetime. An essay on
a past age on paper mills in 2 Henry VI, Act 4, Scene 7. B20th

and Tanya. Papermaking with Kids. Santa Cruz, CA: Good Book Press,
1988. 14 pp. 3″ x 2 3/8″.
Colophon: Tanya, Suzanne, Alanna, Russell, and Amariah [five
children under the supervision of Donna and Peter Thomas] made
the paper, wrote the words, and made the pictures. Then they printed
it and bound it. There are 50 copies. This is #26. Paper made from
pampas grass. Bound in green marbled boards with dark green leather

Colophon: 200 copies of Luke 2:1-19 were printed on Peter’s All rag
handmade paper, using handset type. Linocuts and illumination by
Donna Thomas. Hand bound by the printers. The first twenty-five
copies were hand colored and specially bound. Copy number: 27. 1988
by P. Thomas.

1989. 12 pp. 13/16″ x 15/16″.
Colophon: 32 copies have been printed on parchment and 200 copies on
Peter’s HMP, for Donna’s 32nd birthday. This is #30.
Set using 8 point Bernhard Modern Roman type. Letterpress printed in
3 colors, black blue and red. On both antique Sheepskin Parchment and
Peter’s handmade paper. These are quarter bound in antique brown
calf, the title stamped in gold on the spine with hardwood boards for
both covers. The wood has been laminated and re-sewn to create a
parquet style design. The brown HMP end sheets were specially made to
compliment the colors in the wooden covers. B20th 29/360.

Colophon: C. Dard Hunter II. Two hundred copies have been letterpress
printed on Peter’s handmade paper and bound by the printers. This is
copy number 85. Signed P & D Thomas.
Printed with 10 point Garamond type for the text and Bernhard modern
Roman for the titles. A sample of paper made at Hunter’s Lime Rock
mill is tipped in across from the opening page. 8 printed pages and
end sheets of a different colored handmade paper. Accordion fold.
Regular edition bound in handmade paper treated to be scuff resistant
over boards. Blue paper with green clouds of pulp painting with
Hunter’s DH surrounded by a heart watermark is printed on the cover
and his name on the spine, both in black ink. This copy bound in
green leather with Hunter’s name in gold on the spine. B20th

Celia Fiennes, A record of Seventeenth Century Paper Making. Santa
Cruz, CA: Peter and Donna Thomas, 1990. 22 pp. 2 9/16″ x 2″.
Colophon: The biography and footnotes to the text were written by
Peter Thomas. The illustrations were cut by Donna Thomas. The brown
paper sample was made by Ray Tomasso. The book was letterpress
printed on paper trimmed from the margins of an incomplete copy of
Keple’s Reports, (which was printed in England in 1685) and hand
bound by the printers. There are 200 copies, numbered 1-25 each have
an original watercolor, this is copy #53.
Bound in boards printed in 17th century printing. Title printed on
paper pasted on front cover and spine. End papers match cover design.

Illustrations convey the idea that the island is like an egg and
people are the yolk. Children’s drawings cut into linoleum. Linoleum
cuts and handmade paper collage illustrations. Printed on an etching
press, on accordion folded Japanese paper with 4 Stryno handmade
paper inserts. Bound by the printers with handmade paper over boards.
The title is printed on the front cover. Of the 40 copies, only 20
