
Information Arcade LIB (Main Library)
The mission of the Information Arcade is to facilitate technology into the classroom by promoting new ways to access, gather, organize, analyze, manage, create, record, and transmit information using high-end electronic classrooms.
Information Commons HLHS (Hardin Library for the Health Sciences)
The Information Commons, Hardin Library's state-of-the-art educational technology facility, offers high-end multimedia development workstations, two networked electronic classrooms, a case-based learning/conference room, and general use computers for database searching, e-mail and word processing.
Laptop Computers and Wireless Network Areas
Students, faculty, and staff can more easily configure their laptop computers for accessing the University of Iowa wireless network and connecting to library resources, in most branch library locations around campus. The libraries also provide laptops for checkout and wireless cards at several locations.
NOTE: Laptop checkout in the Main Library has been moved from the second floor ITS Help Desk to the first floor, Reference and Library Instruction department. Students may now borrow laptop computers from the Main Library Information/Reference Desk for 3 hours, 3 days or overnight. Laptops can provide access to library resources anywhere the wireless network is available.

Main Library ITC (Instructional Technology Center) computers - 1st and 2nd Floors
The Main Library offers over 200 computers on the second floor and 28 on first floor for sign-on access to electronic resources at the University of Iowa. Several public-access computers for library catalog searches are also available.

The Main Library South Circulation Desk provides access to non-print material such as newspapers, videotapes, DVD and laser discs, audio cassettes, and vinyl records. Film subjects range from documentaries to feature-length and foreign language films.
