Students, faculty, staff and visitors on the University of Iowa campus can connect their laptop computers to the internet via wireless access in a number of locations including east and west campus libraries. Some libraries also provide students with laptop computers for mobile or wireless connection to library resources. See Laptop Checkout: About the service.
Who May Access the Wireless Network to Connect to The University of Iowa Libraries Resources?
The University of Iowa maintains a wireless network for UI students, staff, and visitors. The service also provides wireless data network access for mobile computing devices such as laptop computers and smartphones. However, most locations require a valid HawkID in order to connect to the network. Visitors may obtain temporary sign-on privileges, though laptop borrowing privileges are currently limited to enrolled students.
Setup and Support
Setup and support for wireless access is provided by the ITS Help Desk. There are currently no recurring fees associated with the wireless service. If an organizational entity would like to expand wireless coverage, they are responsible for installation costs. more…
