1. Biography (typewritten form) of Thomas E. Corkhill, born on April 24, 1822. Pioneer Iowa Methodist circuit riding minister (came to Iowa in 1849) teacher, physician; founder of Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant; secured passage of law establishing reform schools at Eldora and Mitchellville; chaplain of 25th Iowa Infantry in Civil War.
