In 1935 Ward Ritchie printed 25 copies which Dr. Bird gave to the
young author for Christmas. Now in 1983 it is reprinted with an
illustration of the pig by Gloria Stuart. It has been done on the
Albion handpress of Laguna Verde Imprenta in an edition of 25 copies
printed for Dawson's Book Shop, plus a few extra copies for friends
of the printer.
The 22nd publication of the Laguna Verde Imprenta, with an
introduction by the printer, Ward Ritchie. Since Ward Ritchie gave us
his only miniature book we gave away all copies. This is the copy

Printed from type by Wallace and Cory Nethery by permissions of Her
Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. A delightful essay on
smallness. In the early 1920s when Queen Mary's Doll House was made,
Max Beerbohm was one of the British authors who contributed a
miniature manuscript for the Doll House. This first separate edition
is the same size, and the green binding is similar to the original in
Windsor Castle. The trade edition was bound in green leatherette. One
of the leather volumes went to the Queen's Doll's House, one to
Wallace Nethery. There were three for sale! Note by Wallace &
Corry Nethery.
