The Charlotte M. Smith Collection of Miniature Books
Return to: 20th Century U. S. Imprints in the Smith Collection
The portion of this website in front of you brings together in preliminary fashion a variety of lists and descriptions for United States Miniature Books published during the Twentieth Century. The books have then been organized by press or publisher as described in Robert C. Bradbury's Twentieth Century United States Miniature Books (No. Clarendon, Vermont: The Microbibliophile, 2000). This page describes titles held by the University of Iowa Libraries for the press or publisher described below. The descriptions generally follow Bradbury's format: Author. Title. Imprint (if it varies from the heading), date. Size in inches. Number of pages. Brief physical description. Illustrations note. Copy # of [##] copies.

Bassett, Roy. The Only Way, a Christmas Reflection for 1979.
Woodstock, VT: Lilliputter Press, 1979. 8 pp. 3" x 2-1/8".
This little volume comes to you from Rhoda and Frank Teagle in
celebration of Christmas Day, 1979. It represents an international
effort, however, since it combines the pens of Rev. Roy Bassett,
Methodist minister of Ballinger, Texas, and of Mme. Annie Vallotton,
Swiss artist, author and illustrator of many books and songs for
children, who now lives in Vincennes, east of Paris. Rev. Bassett's
contribution appeared as the devotion for 27 December 1978 in THESE
DAYS, and is reprinted as our greeting by kind permission of its
publisher, Michael Bergamo. Mme. Vallotton created the frontispiece
specially for us. We are proud to give wider acclaim to her
contribution which will be recognized by many as an example of her
illustrations that sparkle anonymously throughout the pages of THE
GOOD NEWS BIBLE in Today's English Version, published by the American
Bible Society in 1976.
