Text printed in two colors on Rives paper. Bound in irridescent Thai
silk with a specially designed monogram embroidered on the front
cover. Gold stamped frontispiece and divider pages. Contains an Edna
St. Vincent Millay postage stamp as frontispiece. This is the
suppressed version containing "Love Me No More" and "Gazing Upon Him
Now" which were rejected by Norma Millay Ellis, sister of Edna St.
Vincent Millay. This copy also does not have the copyright notice
which follows the poems which comes before the colophon in the

Of 200 copies printed on Mohawk Superfine paper, 160 copies are bound
in rose-pink silk. End papers specially marbled by Kay Radcliffe. The
book has 64 pages. 40 deluxe copies, of which this is one, are bound
in cream-gray leather, gold stamped, gilt-edged, and with a specially
commissioned porcelain cameo laid on the cover. Each deluxe copy is

Colophon: The Nightingale and the Rose is the first in a series of
three fairy tales published by Rebecca Press in which roses are key
story elements. This book, produced in cooperation with Cheloniidae
Press of Williamsburg, Massachusetts, is illustrated with wood
engravings and drawings by Alan James Robinson. Rebecca Saddy Bingham
designed the edition. The Italian Oldstyle monotype was set by
Mackenzie-Harris. Jane Pomeroy printed 315 copies on Mohawk superfine
paper at the Burntcoat Press in the spring of 1985. Two hundred and
fifty regular and fifty deluxe copes were bound at the green Dragon
bindery. Fifeen state proof copies were bound by David Bourbeau. this
is number 4. Signed R.S. Bingham and A.J. Robinson.
Features original wood engravings and illustrations. Bound in red
leather with tree and title impressed on front. Housed with 2 other
books in a red leather case with wood pin closure. B20th 8/3267.

Mackenzie-Harris set the book in Kennerley Light monotype. Darrell
Hyder printed 315 copies in the Summer of 1986. This edition of The
Wild Swans consists of 250 regular, 50 deluxe, and 15 state proof
copies - all of which were bound at the Green Dragon Bindery. This is
number 4.
Signed by Chamberlain. Bound in tan leather with a wing and the title
stamped into front cover. Housed along with two other books in a red

A full color miniature collection of 42 color designs executed by the
artist for Harpers Bazaar at the the crest of the Art Deco era
1932-37, and never before published ineither book or magazine form.
The maquettes included in this limited edition are reproduced on
acid-free Cameo Dull paper, with all the sensuous elegance and
brilliant color of the originals. 2000, each hand-bound in black silk
with silver calfskin accents. The deluxe, signed edition, mine is #15
of 200 is bound in bright blue snakeskin inlaid with seed pearls, and
encased in a specially designed silver minaudiere. The title is
stamped in silver on a black leather label on the front cover and
there is a tiny diamond over the "e" in erte. Case with clasp, black
tassel and blue snakeskin is 3 ½" x 2 ¾", ¾" deep.
Signed by both Erte and Bingham.
