Illustrations engraved from woodcuts used as frontispiecs. Bound in purple cloth over boards with the title gold stamped on the front cover. Edges are gilt stamped. Covers are worn and the pages are yellowed with age.
Greenaway, Kate, 1846-1901. Alphabet. London & N.U., G. Routledge & Sons [1885?] [32] pp. 2-5/8" x 2-3/8". Text is printed in color and bound in stiff paper wrapper with the title and a color illustration printed on the front and back covers. A clear plastic coat over the outside covers protects the book and makes it shiny. Welsh 3157.
