The No. 1 Hard Cook Book
Fargo, North Dakota: Trustees First Presbyterian Church, 1889

This is the first cook book published in the state of North Dakota, printed by the Fargo printer E. A. Webb. Focused on the locally produced "No. 1 Hard Wheat," it contains nearly 200 recipes for breads, cakeseggs, meats, pastry and puddings, pickles and salads, soups and vegetables as well as a variety of advertisements for Fargo businesses.

This rare book was acquired with funds provided by the Friends of the Libraries and has been added to the Chef Louis Szathmary Culinary Arts Collection.
