Directions and Map to Friday's Tent Show!

On Friday the Tent Show Exposition will have its grand opening at the Oakdale Campus on Friday, July 22nd and will move indoors to the Iowa Memorial Union for Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th. Tours of the Oakdale Papermaking Facility will be available as well. Attendance at this Friday event will be open to the public. Hands-on activities for kids of all ages (5-95) is encouraged but not required.

The Friday Tent Show will also include other fun-filled entertainments including live music by bluegrass musicians Bob & Kristie Black, food vendors, games, helium and animal balloons, and the photographic opportunities to pose as historical book figures.

Step right up to the Tent Show exposition to see miracles and feats of wonder including book and paper related:

• Technical demonstrations will include demonstrations of hand bindery equipment, repair presses and plows, vellum preparation, book sewing, conservation technique and other book craft skills.
• Poster sessions will allow participants to display, share and discuss their latest research findings or book conservation treatment techniques.
• Vendors will also be on site to offer specialized products and equipment.

The event will prove to be both socially and technically enriching and presented in the spirit of a county fair.The tent show will also include a registration and information kiosk.
