Program Participants

This program is currently underway with nine participants at the three university libraries: Iowa State University Library, The University of Iowa Libraries, or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries.  It is unknown at this time if future participants will be recruited and the program, or elements of it, continued.

The Program for University Librarians in the Sciences offered nine half-time graduate assistantships in Library and Information Science to individuals with degrees in the sciences or health sciences who wish to become university librarians. These individuals will earn a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa School of Library and Information Science and gain valuable work experience.
