Books – Not all libraries are offering to place print books on Course Reserve, starting with the Fall 2020 semester and continuing for Spring 2021. If you have questions, please contact your library before placing requests for materials. When a book is requested for course reserve:
- Staff will determine if an online/eBook version is available for purchase by the Libraries.
- If an online/(eBook) version is not available, instructors will be referred to interlibrary loan to request a PDF of individual book chapters for posting to course websites on ICON. Please note, the amount of individual book chapters requested is determined through the Fair Use checklist.
E-delivery for journal articles or book chapters—If you need a PDF of a journal article or book chapter, please submit a request through interlibrary loan. If you need instructions on how to upload a PDF to ICON, visit this link.
Online video – For general information on streaming videos, visit this link. If you need a video to be placed online, visit https://www.lib.uiowa.edu/reserve or contact Main Library Course Reserve staff at lib-res@uiowa.edu
If a title was used in the Fall semester, you will need to contact your library to verify access for the Spring semester.
