{"id":602,"date":"2014-07-08T10:20:56","date_gmt":"2014-07-08T15:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lib.uiowa.edu\/employment\/?page_id=602"},"modified":"2024-11-19T19:55:00","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T01:55:00","slug":"student-employment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.lib.uiowa.edu\/employment\/student-employment\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Employment at the University of Iowa Libraries"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The Numbers<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The UI Libraries employs over 100 student employees with work locations in 6 different buildings across campus.<\/li>\n<li>We have four different classifications of student positions, each at a different pay rate and requiring a different mix of skills and qualifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All student employment positions are posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/careers.uiowa.edu\/handshake\">Handshake<\/a> under University of Iowa &#8211; Libraries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application Information<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A general student application is posted and made available to our student supervisors for each semester.<\/li>\n<li>You must reapply each semester to be considered for student employment in the Libraries.<\/li>\n<li>When a supervisor needs to fill an opening, they may choose candidates from the general application or place a specific ad on <a href=\"http:\/\/careers.uiowa.edu\/handshake\">Handshake<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Due to the high volume of applications we receive, you will not be contacted unless selected for an interview.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Student Employee Scholarships<\/h3>\n<p>The UI Libraries offers several scholarship opportunities for both graduate and undergraduates who are employed at the Libraries.
