Library instructional services are available to anyone in the University of Iowa and local area K-12 schools. Librarians are happy to work directly with your class either in your classroom, online, or at the library. We provide instruction on information literacy, using library resources, and a range of specialized topics according to academic discipline.

In addition to library-taught courses and workshops, we will work with you to offer instruction in flexible and effective modes of instruction that fit the format of your course and public safety considerations. Services we offer include:

  • Creation of asynchronous learning materials such as subject guides and walkthrough videos
  • Assistance through ICON as an embedded librarian
  • Assignment design consultation
  • Making materials available through course reserve

High School and K-12

The University Libraries welcomes students from local area high schools and K-12. These sessions are designed to introduce your students to the University Libraries and college-level research. For Fall 2020 we are offering online sessions by request only. Please contact us at least 2-3 weeks in advance to make arrangements.
