ULIB:2001 Being Responsible Online: From Social Media to Academic Research.<\/span>
\n<\/a>This course will introduce students to some of the ethical issues surrounding information and information technology. Whether you are using information as a researcher or creating information on a social networking site, issues of privacy, reliability, and intellectual property abound. In this course, students will develop the skills to navigate online information responsibly.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ULIB:3011 Library Strategies for International Research (also known as 187:096 (IS:3011))<\/span>
\n<\/a>This course will help students prepare for an academic research paper and succeed in upper-level courses throughout the curriculum. By working with a research librarian, students will gain new skills and experience as they solve information-related problems. The class will feature small group activities, short student presentations, and an individual research consultation with the instructor. Students will develop a familiarity with a variety of research and popular materials, become experts in at least one academic research database, and enhance their critical thinking skills during the 8-week session.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
