\u201cPathways to Iowa: Migration Stories from the Iowa Women\u2019s Archives\u201d explores a theme common to many of the collections: migration. Since its founding, the Iowa Women\u2019s Archives has gathered documents, photos, and oral histories that illuminate the lives of diverse Iowa women. Through the day-to-day work of the Archives and projects to preserve Latina, African-American, and rural women\u2019s history, the Archives has opened up new avenues of research and laid the foundation for a more complete history of Iowa, the Midwest, and the nation.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\nWomen’s Suffrage in Iowa: an online exhibit<\/a>On August 26, 1920 the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granting women the right to vote.\u00a0 But the campaign for women’s suffrage began long before that, in Iowa as elsewhere.\u00a0To commemorate\u00a0the 90th anniversary of women’s suffrage and make the\u00a0history of women’s suffrage in Iowa accessible to a broad audience, the\u00a0Iowa Women\u2019s Archives received a grant from the State Historical Society, Inc., to create a digital collection of suffrage documents.\u00a0 Christine Mastalio and Kayla Pollock, graduate students in the University of Iowa’s School of Library and Information Science, selected and digitized documents from the collections of the Iowa Women’s Archives, the State Historical Society of Iowa (Des Moines and Iowa City branches), and Iowa State University.\u00a0 More…<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
