When you click on the phrase "databases & indexes" at the top of the screen you reach a screen that allows you to select from five databases available through InfoHawk. These databases are:
UIowa Libraries Catalog: This database reflects the holdings of the University of Iowa Libraries. UIowa Libraries Catalog currently contains records for most items cataloged since 1980 and a significant number of older materials. Materials not in InfoHawk include: many pre-1976 U.S. federal documents; maps in the Map Collection; and the contents of most microform sets held by the Libraries. In addition, some manuscript and archival collections have yet to be included in the online catalog. For items published before 1980 and not found in InfoHawk, please consult the card catalog or ask library staff for assistance. UIowa Libraries Catalog is the default database.
Law Library: All Law Library materials are in Uiowa Libraries Catalog except some documents in microfiche and some pre-1976 U.S. government documents.
UIowa Curriculum Lab: This database reflects the holdings of the College of Education's Curriculum Resources Laboratory. It includes over 27,000 informational books, folklore, works of fiction, etc., written for children and young adults. The database also includes 2,300 non-print materials including videocassettes, CD ROMs, and audiorecordings. While some of the collection's curriculum guides, teacher resource books, and textbooks can be accessed through this database, many cannot be accessed electronically at this time.
Curriculum Lab Services: The Curriculum Lab is located in N140 Lindquist Center. Anyone with a current University of Iowa ID card can check out Lab materials. For further information, call 319-335-5616 or visit the Lab’s Web site at: http://www.uiowa.edu/~crl/
International Dada Archive (International Online Bibliography of Dada): This database provides access to materials held by or cataloged for the International Dada Archive. For additional information about the International Dada Archive see: http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/dada/
U.S. Federal Documents Index: This database contains records for a large number of publications issued by the federal government since 1976. Many, but not all of the materials in U. S. Federal Documents Index are available in the University Libraries. After identifying useful material, search the U Iowa Catalog or ask library staff for assistance. The U. S. Federal Documents Index is updated monthly.
