Main Library Reserve materials are available at the Service Desk in the Main Library. Print materials such as library and instructor’s books and media such as videos or DVD’s can be retrieved by staff at this desk.\u00a0 E-reserves (online video, PDF’s and links) are made available through ICON.<\/p>\n

The University of Iowa Libraries have recently adopted a new course reserves software that is integrated into ICON. The tool, called \u201cCourse Materials+\u201d in your ICON online course space, leverages the power of Ex Libris Leganto and the libraries catalog (InfoHawk+) to develop content diverse reading lists and helps make course materials more accessible to students.<\/p>\n

The UI Libraries have created a quick start guide for instructors to easily make their lists with Course Materials+<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Streaming Video: <\/strong>When specified and available, access to an online video will be provided through a URL in an ICON course. Currently, content is available through Digital Campus<\/a> by Swank Motion Pictures. Titles can be searched by name, director, and actor or browsed by subject. Access is not immediate but can take 2 days or 4 weeks to become available.<\/p>\n

Check-out Policies<\/h3>\n

Loan Periods: <\/strong>Items circulate for either 2 hours, 4 hours or 3 days. Material with an hourly loan that would be due after closing are due when Reserve Services next opens. Please check the Libraries hours<\/a>. Materials should be returned to the Service Desk.<\/p>\n

Fines:<\/strong>
\n2 or 4 Hour Items: $2.00\/Hour
\n3 Day Items $5.00\/Day<\/p>\n

No Renewals:<\/strong> Reserve loans are not renewable. Two or four hour items must be on the shelf for 30 minutes before they can be checked out again by the same borrower. Three day items must be on the shelf for one hour before they can be checked out again by the same borrower.<\/p>\n

Maximum Checkouts:<\/strong> You may check out a maximum of three hourly items and two three-day items at one time.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
