ANSON HART
Secretary and Librarian
May 1862 – 1863
In May 1862 the Board of Education office abolished the Curator and Librarian office and transferred the duties of curator to the professor of natural philosophy, and the office of Librarian to the current secretary of the Board of Trustees. Anson Hart made weekly visits to the library to receive and deliver books and “frequently found it [the library] in a state of disorder and confusion,” with missing books a regular occurrence.
