Scope and Contents
Manuscripts, galley proofs, research, and correspondence having to do with Kaplan's short story writing and the publication of his two collections of short stories. Two items were removed from the collection, as they are available elsewhere in the library. These are a copy of The Prisoners of this World and a copy of the Antioch Review for winter 1969-70, which contains "One of the Seas is Called Tranquility."
Biographical Note
Bernard Kaplan teaches fiction writing and courses in the novel, short story, and literature and opera. He has been at the University of Delaware since 1978. He previously taught at Goddard College, Case Western Reserve University, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Arizona State. He holds degrees from Antioch, Yale, and the University of Iowa and is the author or two collections of short stories, Prisoner of this World, and Obituaries.
