Biographical Note

Poet and author, John Gilgun received his B.A. from Boston University in 1957. That same year he was accepted into the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. He completed his M.A. there in two years. Gilgun's first teaching position was at the University of Indiana in Kokomo. He next taught at Clarkson College (1962 -- 1963) and from there moved to Drake University (1964 -- 1968). Gilgun returned to the University of Iowa in 1969 and earned both a MFA and a Ph.D. After finishing his graduate studies in 1972, he joined the faculty of Missouri Western State University. John Gilgun's published works include Music I Never Dreamed Of and Everything That Has Been Shall Be Again.
